Anyone who starts their adventure with an aquarium should start with the cultivation of easy growing  typical water plants. Please do not start with plants that require special conditions, such as soft water, adequate water hardness, or professional fertilization. Therefore, let's not start with the cultivation of such plants as Cabomba piauhyensis or Barclaya longifolia. We can also be disappointed when we  choose plants that do not grow under water permanently. I cannot recommend such plants as Aglaonema or Chlorophytum bichetii. These plants never grow under water.  Rotala  rotundifolia belongs to classical loose aquarium plants for the beginners and experienced aquarists as well.. It tolerates moderate to high lighting. If there is more light, leaves are compact and red. Rotala tolerates pH: 6.5 - 7.0. It can be placed as middle or backgroun aquarium plant. When you trim rotala regularly, it is more and more dense. The foreground  plants  are irreplaceble in aquascaping. They catch your eye and figure passage to the middle and background aquarium plants. They strenghten sense of deep in your water tank. Carpet plants need moderate to high lighting. If lighting is more intense some species like glossostigma or hemianthus species grow faster and are more compact . It is essential to lighten aquarium for 12 hours a day.pH for plants shoud be 6.5 - 7.0 Foreground plants require systematical trimming. Othewise they form messy jungle of plants instead of nice green carpet.
